Let us know if you plan to join us at the Irvine Civic Center on Tuesday, March 14th. The City Council will vote to approve or deny a proposal to build an interim amphitheater near the Orange County Great Park in time for the summer concert season.

Session begins at 5:00pm sharp – we will gather in the Irvine City Hall courtyard starting at 4:00pm.

If you can’t join us, please email the city council and let them know why you support live music in Irvine. You will find some suggested talking points below.

We hope to see you there!

Suggested Talking Points for Emails to City Council

    • Irvine has been home to a live outdoor music venue for 35 consecutive years that has hosted major musical acts from all genres in more than 1,000 shows.
    • Live outdoor music was a major contributor to the city’s growing reputation as a center for culture and arts – keeping Irvine on the entertainment map.
    • Immense public benefits for the City of Irvine, including tax revenue from retail sales, restaurants and hotel stays.
    • A venue of this scale and importance is a major job creator and employer.
    • There will be another outdoor venue of this size built somewhere in Orange County if Irvine does not commit to this golden opportunity.
    • Driving to Los Angeles or San Diego to attend outdoor concerts of this scale is not acceptable because of traffic and time.
    • Live Nation should be retained by the city to plan, construct and operate a permanent amphitheater at the Cultural Terrace. They have done this successfully at Irvine Meadows for years; they have the experience.
    • The time for planning is over; tens of millions of dollars have been spent on studying options for the Cultural Terrace at the Great Park. It’s time to start building the cultural terrace, including a permanent outdoor venue.
